There was garlic chicken (dying for the recipe), hemp necklace making, a funny movie, a thought provoking teaching video (which I slept through most of), communion, prayer, discussion of many things spiritual, thoughtful, encouraging, biblical, vegetable, animal and mineral… Sorry. Got carried away.
The house was beautiful, the view was breath-taking. I tried to limit my views to less than 3 minutes. Ba-da-bump!
The fellowship? Sweeter than I can remember having for so long I can’t even tell you. These lovely ladies have been part of my life for 6+ years and we have History.
The bed was D.I.V.I.N.E. the coffee fresh ground, the cinnamon rolls home made. The laughter genuine, the opinions many and varied and strong and sensitive and loving and loud. And there was very little personal space needed. And there was a Titus 2 woman there, a 23 year old missionary, a mother of 4, a missionary who just happens to currently reside in the US. 🙂 and me.
There were, however, no whales for Heidi. The other Heidi as this Heidi doesn’t particularly care about whales. We walked on the beach and got rained on. Soaked through, more like. And we came back, warmed up and laughed some more at how ridiculous we looked.
I found a string of small, red, glass ladybugs and had one made into a necklace and hopefully Kris will show me how to make earrings and a bracelet out of the rest. In generic terms, not related to scripture or anything remotely biblical, ladybugs symbolize: life is short and teaches uso let go of ones’ worries and fears, to trust in spirit and enjoy life. It brings the gifts of renewal and regeneration. The message of the Ladybug could be asking you to “Let go and let God”. I think I like having that reminder near by. I don’t think there is any time in our life when that’s not a great thing to remember.
There were gifts purchased for special people and too much peanut butter filled pretzels consumed. Those things are quite possibly a temptation for the adversary for me. It was terrible.
I know, I’m gushing. But to have this particular group of ladies together takes some doing and when it was all said and done…
We hugged and prayed and got a little choked up and then we all went home. Thankful, refreshed and blessed.
God is good and I are blessed.
At 9:00pm, yesterday, I got home and slept for almost 11 hours. We had a fabulous time. But we didn’t sleep much.
Ahhh. Good times. Good times.
