Lucky me!

February 5, 2008

I’ll be back when I can stop shaking, aching, shivering, burning with fever, dry-heaving and gain enough strength to walk across a room.

Oh, and quit emitting burps that smell like the pit of hell.

Apparently, this is the on again/off again flu.  Today was much better than yesterday until this evening.  Now it’s starting all over again with one more bonus round which I will not describe.  Simply put… Farting is not an option.

On a positive note, my boys, angels that they are, have spent the last two days ministering to me.  They have cleaned the kitchen (including sweeping/mopping), offered head, hand and foot massages,  brought me bottles of Propel,  heated rice/lavendar bags and my 10 year old cooked up a storm yesterday.

For dinner last night?  The guys had buffalo burgers on whole wheat bagel buns,  garden salad with home made dressing,  home made french fries AND home made applesauce.  All made by the 10 year old.  And his trusty little cook book.  All the smells made me want to retch, but according to the Mr. the meal was a success.

I’m still sick as a dog, but I’m incredibly blessed.

Ah, you too huh? Yep, this one sucks.

  • I can sympathize.

I had the same thing a few months ago. Now? I’ve been up since 3:30am because my throat hurt so bad I didn’t even want to swallow my own saliva (I kept spitting it out – not that you wanted to know!)

I made some tea (drinking it hurt like hell) and popped three Advil. It’s helping some, but when you you’re coughing on top of a sore throat…well, let’s just say the pain is excruciating.

The joys of being sick!. Party on, dude!

Wow! and you are on the opposite side of the US, too. Izak got me up night before last when he vomited on the carpet just inside his bedroom door. Jared joined him during the day yesterday and was a miserable teen. I was watching Aviella and Tobey for Joelle for a little while yesterday so she could come and use my computer to do an email and the baby started crying. When I went to check on her in her swing, she had lost all her last feeding down the front of her. Then Joelle joined her a while after she got back home. I feel like I’m getting it today. I’m not looking forward to it. I think I’ll go drink some basil/clove tea (both herbs are good to stop vomiting) and hope for the best.

I hope you are feeling better today. Izak is and I haven’t heard anything from Jared yet as he is still sleeping in bed and I haven’t heard from Joelle’s humble abode yet, either. I hope she and the wee one are much improved today like Izak.

    Love and shalom,

If you are who I think you are, looks like our tentative meeting at Starbucks later this week may have to wait.

I pray you all get well soon……………………..

aren’t kids the best? they know just how to pull at the heart strings. there is the potential for lots of grief, but the joy is worth it.
