Pancakes & Miscellany

August 10, 2008

Apparently rice/potato/buttermilk pancakes are good! A little more dense, but tasty and completely satisfying. Don’t taste like “Health Food” and half an hour after brunch I am still comfortable and happy.

This might be more fun than I thought it would be.

I’ll just settle into my little green chair with my organic, swiss-water process, grown-in-the-shade, free-market breakfast blend coffee with hazelnut creamer and enjoy the fact that I ate buttermilk pancakes with scrambled (farm fresh) eggs, turkey bacon and fresh pineapple for brunch and none of it hurt.

This is a milestone. And an average Sunday morning for us. *Sigh* Loverly!

Now… Off to build eBay auctions, clean the office, do 3 days of my Bible study, get organized to make carne asada tacos for a late lunch before we scamper off for a late afternoon Sunday drive. Maybe hit a lake? Hike to a water fall… I took the day off because I was supposed to be in Salem this weekend but those plans didn’t pan so I am at home and I don’t have to work this afternoon.

A day wide open and the four best companions I could ever ask for.   The Mr., the Boys and Scooby.

I think I’m going to enjoy today.  What are you doing?

  • My wife and I went on a 30 mile bike ride, washed the car,put new music on my Ipod, went to town for coffee and picked out some nice steaks from a butcher in Springfield. It will end as a good day although there were some tense moments. Battles are like that. The close you get to the flame, the more you feel the heat. We’re pretty darn close to the flame right now. Prayers accepted and appreciated.

Rick, we’ll make sure to keep you in our prayers. I don’t envy you the position you are in but I know that you are kept and will be held. Whatever the outcome.

    Blessings.

  • Rick, are you retarded? LOL – KIdding…

    Sunday
    – A long run, only about 10km’s (I’m not retarded 😉
    – Worked at the golf course
    – BBQ
    – Cleaned house
    – Read
    – Enjoyed some “kiddo” time with youngest kiddo 🙂

    – Sleep…ahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Big Cat

I spent the day “recovering” from moving our youngest out of her third floor apartment into a rental house. This is her 5th move in the last four years and I could do without moving someone again for quite awhile. Oh well, its what you do when you have kids that need your help. It rained all day so I took the opportunity to veg while watching the olympics all afternoon.

  • Went to church, surfed the net, dropped off my daughter at a friend’s and then went shopping with my boy. Made supper (chicken wings!), watched Big Brother, played poker with the in-laws (Iost), and watched some of the Olympics..

  • Hmmm… I’m pretty sure I was baking. I’ve pretty much been trying to figure out bread baking for the past two weeks. 😉
