Faith & Encouragement

Watch ME!

February 19, 2009

The turquoise cashmere/silk sweater matches the blue in the pashmina scarf which blends well with the low heeled brown suede boots.

Who cares?

I do!!!   Going out for tea with my friend.   Getting a few hours away to chill.   Life is good.  Took a step of faith the other day and it seems that Spring has Sprung in my little world.

Here’s the song I’ve been singing all day…

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

So much I don’t know the what and why for.    But I know He watches me.   From thisclose.

  • Speaking for sparrows, I can tell you from experience that He does watch us. And the occasional Heidi.

  • Hey, I sang that for church a while back.

And yes I do have a good voice.

One lady told be I sound like George Beverly Shea.

  • Remember when Ethel Waters used to sing that on the Billy Graham Crusade?

    “and children”

  • AW

I love that song. I sang it myself a while back over and over. Yes, I do remember the singing at the crusades. Amazingly comforting.

  • Steve

can’t say “crusades” anymore. Offends the moslems.

  • Steve,

    LOL,

    touche

  • Can we say jihad? Couldn’t we call the Middle Ages Conflict a jihad? Religious zealots and political pundits destroying their enemies with extreme prejudice… aka jihad.

    Works for me.

  • steve

No. The wars between Christians and Moslems must always be referred to by their correct terms, “the invasion of the peaceful Islamic lands and their protected neighbors by the greedy George Bush and his Halliburton cronies.

  • momma dragon

    as usual very entertaining comments.
glad to see you are singing again after the recent bout with sickness.

  • My favorite is the incomplete version from “Sister Act 2” with Tanya Blount and Lauryn Hill.

  • julie Thompson

I love that song and love to hear that you’re singing again. Love you, Call me sometime to talk about the 50th and our lives.
